Since the case has been sealed, our attorneys have asked us to avoid entering the realm of a.r.s. However, I must raise a few issues: * How far will your voice travel without a medium?! * Will the ISP(Interenet Service Provider) be responsible for ALL the data that transfers through itself? * Will the ISP(Internet Service Provider) be fully responsible for ALL of its clients' actions? * Will YOUR VOICE and RIGHTS be screened due to the compromising position that your ISP be forced into a financial difficulties from potential lawsuits? * Will your ISP be forced to filter your personal directories because of accusations and unproven copyright infringements from companies with the money to sue at every turn? Last Monday, August 14, we were served with a civil suit from the Church of Scientology. One of our users posted material which they claim is copyrighted and Trade Secreted, etc etc (there is some question as to whether or not it is even now after over a week), and are suing both our user and us. I really can't say much about it aside from that, but I just thought I should let you know that they are back at it again. There has been Press coverage of this from eveywhere from The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post (as well as every AP newspaper out tere practically) all the way to The Howard Stern Show (talk about a wide range of media attention).
