Since it looks like I'm going to have to cut the official Toronto Oct 16th
picket short, I decided to fill in a bit. (Wulfen was definitely in favour,
so we had a picket! Okay okay, I sort of said I'd like to do a sprint
picket and he asked if I was jerking someone's thetan or what.)
A nice day, cool crisp October but sunny. I wore khaki picketing shorts and
a red shell--but no red jammies. (Those are trademarked!)
A courtesy call to 52 Division, foot patrol, to let them know what's going
to be happening at 9:10am.. but nobody was home. Eh, I'll try later.
11:45, tried again. Gads, law enforcement in Toronto is about to fail due
to a lack of pens!
After a busy morning, I met Wulfen at 12:47 in front of the usual coffee
place, and we set off for a Short Sharp Picket. THURSDAY. STATS DAY.
BEFORE 2PM. (Belgium!)
Me, from last night: "We could just have
snap unannounced pickets (with a courtesy call to the police before hand
just to let them know). This would be much more cost-effective for Co$, I
guess: No police officer rental, no calling an All Hands at the org and
dragging people in to serve on the weekend, no pushing of staff to blow --
just poor Mario and his whistling. (A sad damned soul -- he picks up the
tab for all the Dianetics Mission purchases before they [if!] get sold to
the public.)"
"Of course, if we did any snap unannounced pickets, they might happen on a
Thursday just before the stats were due. Maybe, but probably not, you never
know, ya know?"
Pure Random Chance, sort of! (I was wondering why Wulfen kept talking about
Thursday just before 2pm, I just wanted to hit the lunch crowd. Honestly, I
didn't clue in until Tuesday.)
I hope Co$ Toronto is happy now -- this sprint picket was pulled in by Peter
Ramsay, OSA, Sporgeries, and the Letter L.
I had my "shrank the Lisa/Xemu" flyer, Wulfen had his and this time we had
enough!
The picket sign was "$cientology wants your money *and* your life", but I
couldn't find the stapler, so it was just a hand-held single panel.
I was late! (Stapler plus traffic on Bloor and .. me being late! :^)
Wulfen was waiting for me (no shit), and we did the picket. Not a whole lot
of flyers, not a huge amount of traffic. A couple of bicycle cops happened
by five minutes into the picket and thanked us for letting them know (Are
you the same bunch as usual? Yeah. Okay, thanks...) (There was a "woman on
the phone" in the org. I gave her a nasal-digital salute and a smile as we
moved away from the cops. Nyah-nyah, I called them first!)
Just before 30 minutes ticked over, a SUV illegally parked (licence plate
*THETAN*!) at the North side of the org, and a member went into the org.
(If I can, I'll hunt up a link to a photo. Stacy spent time talking to her
last year, I think.) I hope she didn't come all the way down to the org to
handle us, because it was 30 minutes, and we left.

org--subtract 17 or so picketeers and add a year and a month.
Huh! Can't find her! But Check out the wonderful picketures at:

(You know, there's a lot of members on this page that I haven't seen in at
least a year--you don't suppose they've blown or something? Where's Wimpy
these days!?)
Wulfen said that we shouldn't visit the Brothers Restaurant until *after*
they've moved, so that none of the tab goes to Co$. Good point!
It looks like I will be able to attend the start of the scheduled October
picket. See you there! (Yeah, yeah, I'll be slightly late!)
I'd just like to thank Co$ for outing me, thus qualifying me to be a "picket
host", and for continuing to provide incentive to keep on doing so. I
couldn't have done it without you folks!
