I've been picketed! THRICE!

After my Wednesday mid-day pickets in Los Angeles, I returned home to San Francisco to learn that I had been picketed.

According to a gentleman who lives in my building, two Scientology representatives were picketing my apartment building at 1 pm on Wednesday. They were distributing fliers which read:

"Your neighbor, Kristi Wachter, is a religious bigot.

"Today she lead a smear campaign against peaceful members of a religion and a picket in front of their church.

"When she's not stirring up intolerance in the streets, Wachter abuses the Internet to spread lies about people and religions she doesn't agree with.

"Don't criticize what you can't understand Kristi!"

It had a photo of me (apparently taken weeks ago, when I was still using my old sign.

Nowhere on the flier does it say what "church" I picketed. No information is given about who is responsible for the flier, and there's no pointer to a phone number or web page for more information.

The gentleman who lives here asked whether they were telling people they were from Scientology, and they said, "Only if they ask." He went inside to get a camera, but when he returned, they were gone.

I have six copies of the flier in my possession. At least one was given to one of my business associates. Fliers were also placed on car windshields.

A second-hand report tells me that they were actually milling around and shouting, although the gentleman who lives in my building didn't recall any shouting.

Friday, I picketed again, and I was picketed again, by the same two guys (a "very pleasant" black gentleman and a "kind of dumpy" white gentleman), according to the gentleman in my building.

Saturday, I picketed again, and I was picketed again. This time, though, the white gentleman was joined by a lady Scientologist named Leslie.

I showed Grady's photos to the gentleman who lives in my building, and it seems likely that the Scientologist in the white shirt who handed out the Minton DA flier on Saturday (Mark???) is the one who picketed me all three days. I THINK the lady in the red top and black slacks is Leslie, from Saturday.

The picketers' signs are only printed on one side. (One said "Kristi Wachter is a religious bigot".) It doesn't sound like there have been any fliers since Wednesday.

And if you picket my residence again, I hope you'll picket when I'm home and stick around for a while to talk. I've enjoyed my conversations with my various Scientology handlers, and I'd love a chance to talk with you when you picket here.
