Germany Embassy

From lsaderrick@aol.com (LsaDerrick), 19 March 98: A friend called me yesterday to let me know that a group of protesters were at 6222 Wilshire Blvd, picketing the Germany Embassy. "Must be Scientologists," he said on a phone message left at 9:22am. "Though they are trying to look like just a bunch of normal Christians. Scientologists have regularly protested there before."

According to him, they had a two part banner, but the people holding the first half of the banner were "lazy" (his words) and didn't have it unfurled, so only the seond banner was visible from the street. It read "BAN RELIGIOUS FREEDOM."

There were less than 20 protestors, said my friend, but no media coverage. When The Independent went to photograph them as part of on going coverage of Scientology, they had left (by 1pm). By now most of the media in LA know the deal with Co$ and Germany, so it's a NON story.
