Supposedly someone thinks I posted copyright materials, for I received the following email from a certain barratrous lawyer:

Dear Mr. Burling:

I represent Religious Technology Center ("RTC"), the owner of the confidential Advanced Technology of the Scientology religion and the holder of exclusive rights under the copyrights applicable to the Advanced Technology materials. The Advanced Technology materials are confidential, unpublished, copyrighted works. RTC's works include, among others, the individual works comprising a level known as "NOTs". These works are registered with the United States Copyright Office under registration numbers: TXu 257 326 and 257 527.

I have been informed that you have posted one of RTC's works, entitled "NOTs 34", on a newsgroup without the authorization of my client. The message ID for this posting is:

By posting my client's copyrighted work on a newsgroup, you are violating the copyright laws of the United States. Please cancel it immediately.

Recently, Mr. Henson, who engaged in similar Internet infringing activities lost a copyright infringement case brought against him. Just this week, a jury convened in the United States District Court in San Jose, California and assessed damages in the amount of $75,000 against him for placing the same work on the Internet. Mr. Henson is also permanently enjoined against further infringements. Additionally, a United States District Court in the state of Virginia granted judgment for damages, costs, and a permanent injunction in favor of the Religious Technology Center, related to copyright infringement of similar works.

Please confirm that you have canceled the postings containing the copyrighted material as requested above.
