After attending my very first picket in L.A. I discovered that my neighbors have been alerted to my presence!
A lovely woman called me this morning to ask if I was the dangerous Mark Bunker. We had a long, laugh filled conversation about Scientology, Wogs and Xenu. She learned all about the Sea Org and their billion year contract. She heard about Operation Snow White and how Hubbard let his wife take the fall as he went into hiding for the rest of his life over "stealing xerox paper."
I'll be scanning in the leaflet later today.

What a day it's been. First, I hear from the next door lady that I'm a religious bigot (according to the leaflet she received) and then I just had two guys come and stand outside my home with picket signs!!! Am I SP yet?
The funny thing is, I had just been talking to the policeman who lives next door about the whole situation and he was telling me I could have them arrested if they ever come here and I said it's unlikely they'll show up because there is a pattern to their lunacy. I told him they usually arrive while the critic is away at a picket. No sooner do I say that but I look out the door and there they are. I have some Karmic Kooties.
Well, the full force of FACTnet Films was put into play as I grabbed the patented MintonCAM and ran out to talk to them. I have to give a big shout out to Don NOTS for a tip he taught me at this week's picket. I started to tell the story of OTIII and by the time I mentioned the name Xenu, one of the picketers had left. He lasted about five minutes. The other fellow was much stronger and faced a recounting of Operation Snow White, Hubbard's abandonment of MarySue, Lisa MacPherson's horrible death and as much more as I could muster. Unfortunately, he had to eventually leave as well. It's sad really, because the policeman next door had called for a squad car. Oh, well. I'm sure someone will be back.

Since the Co$ is too incompetent to locate my home near Cape Town, they decided to send a member of their cult to picket the home of my girlfriend, whom I'm visiting with for the next eight days.
At about half past one this afternoon, a worthy oriental gentleman by the name of Harry Wong showed up in front of her Redwood City home with a "David Johansen: Religious Bigot" sign and matching leaflets. The sign was one-sided (bad sign tech) and had a blurred picture of me taken with a telephoto lens.
I called Redwood City's Finest to find out whether it was legal to picket private residences in town. Despite the fact that it is legal, the police (no doubt noting the cult's violent past and present) sent two cruisers over to make sure all was well.
Harry Wong was well-dressed, well fed and polite: clearly a public. He told me he has been a $cientologist for over ten years and that I was a religious bigot for picketing the cult in LA. I told him the Xenu story (didn't believe me) the Lisa story (a plot against the Co$) and Hubbard's attitudes toward Asians (didn't believe me). At my request, he promised to send me my SP declare, noting that OSA 'dealt with people like you'.
Best quote from Harry Wong: 'If Scientology were a dangerous cult, you'd be afraid of me.'
After an hour or so, Keith Henson showed up with his own picket sign and informed Harry he was 'mocking up his reactive mind'. Harry lasted about five minutes in Keith's presense before scurrying off to his van -escorted by Keith and myself. Keith took some great pictures of Harry, his car and licence plate. Harry may have been smilin' but he was not a happy unenturbulated camper by the time he left.
Note to the cult: Picketing the home of a lawyer whose firm is engaged in litigation with your cult is a bad idea. Ask the 'Ho - even she knows better. Don NOTs

Excerpts from a sworn testimony taken March 12, 1999 in Copenhagen, et al. The sworn testimony was given to us in German, and we were present at all times when the sworn testimony was being given.
The contents match the notarized original word for word. The female author of the sworn testimony is known to us, exactly as is her function in Scientology.
During the sworn testimony we asked questions. These are also contained in the testimony. Understandably, we are presently taking measures to assure the safety of the informant.
Re: Stopping Peter Reichelt's film:
Since Scientology would not want Peter Reichelt's film to be broadcast, OSA is trying much a) to get data about the film and b) use the data to stop the film.
OSA did not know for a long time which Mrs. Endress from Suedwestfunk was the person responsible, since there were three ladies with that name in the Suedwestfunk building.
In the beginning OSA first thought that the film would show at WDR, but then received information that the film would be shown from Suedwestfunk. It was my assignment to collect and evaluate incriminating data on Mr. Peter Reichelt so that there would be serious doubts about his professionalism and over his reputation. To that end I was involved with Peter Reichelt's book "Helnwein und Scientology - Lüge und Verrat" ["Helnwein and Scientology - Lies and Betrayal"]
Looking at the data in the book it was apparent that Reichelt was very negatively inclined towards Scientology, therefore his film could not be a credible documentary on Scientology. From data already available on Peter Reichelt, I could see that there were several people who were not well disposed towards Peter Reichelt.
The time had now arrived for Kurt Weiland to inform author Thomas Kruchem what an unsavory character Peter Reichelt was. It would be best if Wiebke wrote a letter to Kruchem and told about the situation so that Kruchem could gain access to Suedwestfunk. Perhaps there would also be a possibility of gaining more precise data about the film.
It was also advisable to do this shortly before the presentation of the film so that the author would be given greater credibility. An earlier point in time would have been unwise because on the basis of the interviews held, there was, of course, personal contact between the author Thomas Kruchem and Scientology, while Mr. Thomas Kruchem had never had contact with Peter Reichelt. This had to be held to advantage..
Wiebke's letter brought about a reaction of righteousness in Thomas Kruchem. His fast answer, along with the forwarding on to Suedwestfunk made for a success. I had the opinion that we had somebody who understood us and would not want anything to do with the lies about Scientology. I also think that the documents about Prince or from Shadduck had also built doubt in Kruchem.

On Saturday April 16, 1998 German journalists Peter Reichelt and Ina Brockmann sent a new release thru Microsoft Internet News, concerning flase imprisonment and Kidnaping charpes against Scientology High Official Ken Hoden. The above charges allegedly occurred on March 9, 1998 near H Concentration Camp (Happy Valley). In this news release they stated that they, U.S. TV cameraman Steve, and former LA police sergeant Jack, were witnesses to the above allegations.
Brockman an Reichelt alleged in the news release that the charges were the result of Ken Hoden and other Scientologists holding them at gun point against their will for two hours. Further, that after two hours the Sheriffs Department sent two sheriffs vehicles, one with a seegeant and one with a deputy, who freed the germans, the cameraman and Jack, and arrestes Hoden and three other Scientologists for salse imprisonment and kidnapping.
I, Jack Shadduck, a retired Long Beach police sergeant and currently a private investigator in Hemet, was hired on March 9, 1998 by Brockmann and Reichelt. I was hired to accompany them, advice them on local laws and monitor their offorts to attemt to get to and lock at the Scientology school on the Soboda Indian Reservation.
The TV cameraman, the two germans and I were followed onto the indian reservation by serveral Scientology vehicles. As we crossed through the unmarked gate, onto the scientology property, our passage was blocked by a construction backhoe, and the cars following us drew nearer. Ken Hoden alighted from a vehicle and advised us that we were on Scientology property. After some discussion when the germans refused to leave, Ken Hoden placed ther unter citizens arrest fpr trespassing and then blocked theit exit pending the arrival of the Sheriffs Department, whom they had called. After approximately 45 minutes sheriffs sergeant, David Pike, arrived on the scene and interviewed all parties concerned. Ken Hoden intisted upon arresting the germans for trespassing, and the germans, in turn, insisted upon arresting Ken Hoden and three other Scientologists for false arrest.
The sheriffs sergeant called for a deputy to issue citations for the trespassing and false arrest. After approximately another 45 minutes, the cleputy arrived and the citations were issued, with Ken Hoden affecting a citizens arrest on Ken Hoden and the other scientologists. At no time did anyone display a gun in any manner, nor thresten to detain or coerce anyone by use of a weapon, nor was it necessary for the sheriffs department to "free" anyone.

If we understand that correctly, then it would just be the environment or the assistants that are put under pressure. In Peter Reichelt's case, the bodyguard or the pilot, but not he, himself.

"That is how it usually goes. It would be stupid to so openly approach a German journalist. It would make much more sense to confront his environment or his assistant. For one thing it could be that those helping him will get doubts about his activities or their help. See, these people have to stay in the States, whereas Peter Reichelt climbs on board an airplane and flies to Germany. That would be it."

I was taking a look at my web page last night and I noticed that when I tried to access the "Life History" form and the RA files on my page, I got an "Error 403--Forbidden" message. I e-mailed support@globalcenter.net to see if they could tell me why I was getting that message, mentioning that I had previously received an e-mail from Ava Paquette about the RA files and that Primenet/Globalcenter had then disabled the RA files until I wrote commentary on the RA files so they would be more in line with Fair Use (that commentary page is at http://www.primenet.com/~xenubat/LRH.html). (I had also gotten a Kobrinogram last summer about the Life History form; I had e-mailed Helena in response asking her to please provide proof that her client owned that document, and never heard back from her). A Swedish citizen XX (not on ARS, but this post made with his permission) who has been publicly criticizing Scientology, has recieved a legal threat from the Swedish lawyer firm employed by the CoS: Magnusson Wahlin Advokatbyra, Birger Jarlsgatan 15, SE-103 86 Stockholm, Sweden. According to the letter, RTC allege that XX has violated RTC copyrights. They claim he is supposed to have, on two different occasions, publicly posted excerpts from OT materials on a street intersection of a Stockholm suburb. Exactly how this was supposedly done is not clear from the letter. It also does not say what particular pieces of the "Material" RTC claim were posted.
From the letter:
"it has come to the attention of RTC that you have posted excerpts from documents called Operating Thetan ("the Material") at the intersection of Lantmaeterivaegen and Hoegbyvaegen in Jaerfaella. This has occurred on two separate occasions, February the 25th and March the 2nd, 1999."
"...RTC possesses the copyrights to the Material... The Material is further strictly confidential, and has not legally been made publicly available through the actions of our client. In a decision by Stockholms Tingsraett [District Court of Stockholm] of September 14, 1998, an individual named Zenon Panoussis was forbidden on the penalty of a fine to take any steps that would result in further infringement of RTC's copyrights to the Material."
"By producing copies of the Material, and making it available to the general public... you have violated the copyrights to the Material."
"You are thus urged to immediately hand over the Material to RTC and refrain from any such actions in the future."
"In case you do not by April 9th 1999 hand over the Material, our client may take legal measures without further notice."
Note that there are no reasons given for RTC's claim that XX is responsible for the posting, if it did indeed happen, although specific dates are given. And how would they know what occurred on a particular day at one out of thousands of street intersections in the greater Stockholm area...?

Robert Minton and Stacy Brooks Young have blatantly lied to the American public and media about our Church, its members, its goal and actions. We refuse to allow our religion to be smeared and maligned any longer.
Minton has held himself out on national television and to the press to be an upstanding citizen but he is using his many millions of dollars to force his own bigoted views onto our Church; and its parishioners and to so reform it. (Most ironically, Minton is not and has never been a member of our Church and has no personal first-hand knowledge of its teachings and activities.) He promotes an agenda of bigotry.
Minton told the media that he was coming to the aid of two poor Church detractors, Vaughn & Stacy Young, by purchasing them a $250,000 house in Seattle, Washington plus giving them tens of thousands of dollars in cash to support them.
What Minton didn't say was that his money also bought a very expensive mistress - a married woman who split up with her husband of twenty years after spending yet another weekend with Bob Minton in New Hampshire recently, while deceptively portraying himself on television to be a happily married family man with two young daughters; in reality Minton was regularly flying Stacy Young around the country engaging in these trysts whenever he felt like it.
Minton made a lot of his money, he says. by helping Nigeria and other third world country's dictatorial leadership to successfully default on multimillion dollar loans. Everyone with the inside knowledge benefited out, but as events and statistics show, while millions are siphoned off in "commissions" and lenders had to write off huge losses. The leaders of Nigeria completely ignored the human suffering and misery of its citizens. Is this how men of principle act?
This is not the first time Stacy Young has compromised her integrity for the money. Because of her vendetta against members of our Church she once sold a supporting declaration to an attorney ropresenting a known con man who had been imprisoned for faking death threats, falsely claiming they were from Scientologists and lying to the FBI about them.
Stacy Young and Robert Minton have failed to conduct themselves decently toward out [sic] Church. They have instead chosen to lie to the media and public all the while secretly conducting an amorous relationship.
They have demonstrated that truth has no place on their agenda. This is just one example. We will keep the public informed about the real Robert Minton and Stacy Brooks Young in future editions of this leaflet.

Why, yes, Bev! When they took the photos for our harassment flyers, wynot was holding a sign that read "Scientology Harasses its Critics". Somehow, mysteriously the word "Harasses" was missing from the photo on the flyers they distributed in our neighborhood. Didn't they know "Scientology its Critics" makes no sense? I guess they didn't want to admit to our neighbors that we were right.

We've been flyered again by the Co$ (Criminals of $cientology), this time with flyers tacked to telephone poles. This is a new layout (printing quality still sucks though), with a much better picture of me on mine, and a horizontally distorted picture of wynot for his. They say simply, "Religious Bigot" and below, "Stop the Harassment! Stop the Hate!". Wynot's picture appears to be from his first picket, when he wore a suit and his Xenu tie for the occasion. Of course the tie is not clear enough to see in this picture.
There seemed to be a total of under 10; perhaps they are running low on paper and money with which to buy more.
Again, no claim of ownership, but who else could it be? Why are scientologists ashamed of their religion?
To summarize the harassment here, one picket of our house (police made them leave), one flyering in mailboxes, one flyering with paper airplanes (this scientologist must have had a bit of a sense of humor left), one parishioners.org page (where is wynot's page, he feels slighted!), and now another flyering on telephone poles.

When I left work this evening (I work a part-time job at a local mall while going to school), I was greeted by my mother with the news that I'd had an "interesting night tonight." And so I had! Despite the fact that I was not at home, and neither were my parents, as they were attending a local town meeting, a crew of six Scientologists came to my house in a van and a red Chevrolet Cavalier, armed with signs, to picket the day's Face of Religious Bigotry, me.
Note: Nearly all of this is information I got from my parents, who were told this by various of my neighbors.
The six Scientologists, including DSA Tim Lomas, DSA PRO Bruce Thompson, and ED Bonnie Di Martino of Philadelphia Org, as well as a young girl approximately 11 or 12, arrived with several signs, including one with a large picture of me, and a caption about how I, Charlotte Kates, was the face of religious bigotry. There is an ongoing parking controversy on my small street with regards to a popular Japanese restaurant at the corner, and a neighbor, fed up, could not believe that 2 more big vehicles were parking there instead of in Sagami's lot. She confronted them, whereupon they told her that they had nothing to do with the restaurant, and went into their spiel about how I, her neighbor, was a religious bigot. She responded They told "everyone who would listen" that I was a religious bigot, that I spew hatred, intolerance, and such. They compared me to a Nazi, even--ironic that I've been an anti-fascist since before I ever had the bad luck to come in contact with Scn. Alluding to my past as a Scientologist, they said that I "used to be helpful" but that I now "spew hate on the Internet."
In addition, they took numerous pictures of passerby and neighbors, and insistently rang our doorbell. Several neighbors informed them repeatedly that we were not at home, and even said that "you can ring the bell all you like, they aren't home." Despite this, they continued to repeatedly ring the bell and attempt to look inside the windows of the house. The local young children appeared to be the only ones who would pay attention to the picketers, whereupon several neighbors took their children inside. The aforementioned neighbor who confronted them upon their arrival also called Collingswood Police, who arrived shortly.
The police officer who arrived told them that this was not the way to handle the situation, and told them to leave. In addition, my next-door neighbor reported that the officer confiscated the Scientologists' signs. The officer called back later and spoke with my parents, as I still was not home from work and blissfully unaware of the scene at home, and took some information and gave them a case number.
So, Scientology, basically, you attempted to intimidate my neighbors, taking their pictures repeatedly--and they reacted by taking their children in to hide them from your harassive behavior, and calling the police. Perhaps you wanted to intimidate my parents. On the other hand--they're proud of me, and happier than ever that I am *out* of Scientology. In addition, you've given me a *wonderful* opportunity to inform my heretofore unaware neighbors about what Scientology really is--after all, they've now seen the harassment in action. They know that Scientology is a destructive, harassive cult, and that I take a stand to prevent others from becoming involved. Quite simply, no one is intimidated--simply more determined than ever to tell the truth about Scientology!

Well, this time I had just arrived home from school not long before, and was happily chatting away on IRC #scientology about the events of *last* night, when my mother called me from downstairs. "They're back!"
Yes, they were back. There were fewer of them this time--only four. Tim Lomas (DSA) and Bruce Thompson (DSA PRO) were repeat picketers, while Dave Cormier (Purif I/C) was most likely a new addition to the crowd, along with another woman whose name I do not recall. I hurriedly disconnected so my mother could call the police, giving them the case number given me last night. The four of them were circling around the sidewalk in front of my house--three of their signs had pictures of me (an odd picture--mainly the top of my head) with the caption "Charlotte Kates Religious Bigot"; the fourth said "Charlotte Kates--Only a Communist Would Oppose Religious Freedom", an allusion to my younger teenage alliance with left-wing groups.
The 911 operator said that the police would be arriving shortly. Meanwhile, my father had gone outside and was arguing with Tim Lomas. He came back in, and grabbing our camera, my mother and I headed outside, greeting them with a sprightly "Hi Tim! Hi Bruce! Hi Dave!" and taking snapshots of the whole crew as Bruce videotaped the entire picket, the neighborhood in general, me, my family and our house. Tim looked at me coldly and asked how long I had been "spewing hate" on the Internet. My mother said that *this* was spewing hate; Tim replied that this was the "first time" they had been at our house--when my mother reminded him of their visit last night, he seemed almost surprised.
We continued to observe the picket, and eventually my father stood on our step and waited for the police as they continued outside. When the police came in a van and another police car, I went outside to speak with the officer, saying that I was a former member of Scientology, that I'd found out it was a cult, and that I'd left, and that now I speak out against Scientology. The officer spoke with Tim and Bruce (as the OSA reps, they were in charge), and told them once more that this was "not the best way to handle things." After they finally packed their signs and left, the officer came to speak with me and my family--he stated that he will look into the situation with residential picketing after we explained Scientology's pattern of harassment.
BTW, I think any sign confiscation last night was merely temporary, until the Scientologists returned to their cars, since they had the signs again tonight.
And no, Scientology, it's *still not working*. I'm still more determined than ever to tell the truth about the criminal destructive cult of Scientology.

Last night, in his attack posting, francoci@relaypoint.net referred to a post that apparently indicated I infiltrated Scn. Since I *didn't* (and, btw, Scn has ethics files containing reports from quite a few sec checks involving questions about infiltration, etc, all of which I passed with flying colors), I was curious to see what exactly was in this post. Well, I found it--Apparently, an AOL newbie on ARS said he was going to infiltrate Scientology, and iirc, my own former org, Philadelphia. Warning him of the dangers of Scientology mind control techniques, I told him that the infiltration he planned was nothing more than a route to getting involved in Scientology, since he was expecting monsters and caricatures--and he'd be very surprised at the "normality" of Scientologists he met. I tell him about how awareness is far better than infiltration. So, Francoci, here's your "smoking gun": tends to make you look like even more of a liar, no?

I'm an ex-Scientologist, formerly of the Philadelphia Org. I'm going to offer a bit of advice--infiltration is a bad idea. The thing is, you will not find a group of "wacko brainwashed culties" or skulking OSA agents at the Org--just a bunch of people who have no idea of the real nature of the group they are serving.
They also won't be talking about space aliens--I don't think the Org has any staff that are OT III and above for that matter! (They didn't when I was there..) That's considered confidential data in Scientology; and most staff don't know anything about it. You also will *not* find any Scientologist who will say "suicide is freeing the soul." I never knew any Scientologist who believed that--especially, once again, at Philadelphia Org.
There aren't any Big Cult Secrets at Philadelphia Org--most of those are already out here, on the Net. If you want to expose Scientology, please, picket, set up web sites, post to ARS, flyer, tell your friends about the dangers of Scn. If you want to picket the Org, I'll be glad to do so with you--just give me a date and time. But please, do not infiltrate. It's a fast track to becoming a Scientologist, because what you will find there is not what you are expecting. What you'll find there are a lot of people like you and me, who are not aware of what criminality they are serving.
Spreading awareness may help set those people free, and that is worth more than any infiltration.
Also, I'd like to warn you that by posting this non-anonymously, from an AOL account, you have *seriously* compromised your security to a large extent.

According to a gentleman who lives in my building, 4 (maybe 5) Scientologists picketed my apartment today. They were noticed at 2:10 and were gone by 2:20.
Craig ("Tall Black Guy") was here, along with "Pippi" (a lady with two long braids), "YuppieGuy" (a gentleman who looked like a standard yuppie), and one other person (maybe two others).
It's a bit perplexing, since I haven't had a chance to picket since April 3. (Sigh. I like to picket every two weeks. Ah well - my schedule might be freeing up a bit ...)
Three slightly revised fliers were given to me by my neighbor. They read:
THE FACE OF
RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY
This woman, Kristi Wachter, is
a religious bigot.
She's engaged in a smear campaign against peaceful members of a religion and regularly pickets in front of their churches.
When she's not stirring up intolerance in the streets, Wachter abuses the Internet to spread lies about people and religions she doesn't agree with.
Minor changes:
I'm now "This woman" instead of "your neighbor". Maybe they figured calling me "your neighbor" was restimulating positive feelings about me grin .
They've eliminated "Don't criticize what you can't understand!"
They've highlighted "religious bigotry", my name, and "religious bigot" in boldface type. Isn't technology wonderful? It's still a pretty ugly font, though.
Still no mention of Scientology.
Oh, and I just noticed - either they're trying something subtle with subliminal imagery (unlikely), or their printer is ghosting. If you look closely, you can see the word "FACE" across my neck, and remnants of "RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY" across my chest. Huh.
I suppose this picket could be a preemptive strike against the upcoming picket this Saturday ... or maybe they just noticed the sunny day and figured they'd rather spend some time outdoors instead of in their stuffy ol' Academy[tm] classrooms.
In any case, it's a record number of picketers for me (I've never had more than three before). I'm sorry I missed them - I would have liked to have given Craig my letter.
Ah, well ... next time.

This is becoming a trend, it seems...As was the rumor, my picketers returned again tonight, and were, as on Monday, greeted by an empty house. I was again at school; my parents were again out. Therefore, once again, all information is from neighbors. Five Scientologists were back again--apparently the same four as last night, Tim Lomas, Bruce Thompson, Dave Cormier, a woman I don't know, and another female. They picketed with the same signs as before--a picture with "Charlotte Kates Religious Bigot" and the "Charlotte Kates--Only a Communist would Oppose Religious Freedom" sign, and carried a video camera.
One angry neighbor of mine cursed at them and told them to get off her property where they had wandered over the line; another sat outside with his dogs. I can tell you this--the neighbors are truly irate about the whole idea of someone picketing and harassing their neighbor--and their anger is *not* directed at me. After about fifteen minutes of picketing an empty house, the Scientologists left.
Apparently unsatisfied, they reportedly went next to Rod Keller's house in Philadelphia--I await Rod's report on what happened there....
Well, Scientology, how long will this continue? You can be back tomorrow; you can picket me every night--and it simply will not silence me. Just as with all the others on whom you've attempted this tactic, it will fail. I can and I will outlast you. And sorry you miss me so much at home--it seems that I have a life to live.

I got to have a nice long chat with my picketers today. They were here from 3:45 until 5 pm, and I got to talk with them for almost that entire time.
Craig was here, along with four people I hadn't met before: Nick, Bob, and Joanna, who was raised in Scientology (she said at one point "we were born into Scientology", so possibly others were too - Nick had a similar look, so she and Nick might be brother and sister).
I tried to give my letter to Craig, but he refused to take it. He later told me he'd read it already - or at least skimmed it - and that he thought I'd spent a lot of time on it (implying too much time).
Everyone gave me their names when I asked and had no trouble being photographed, except Craig, who hid behind his sign again. At various points during the conversation, they refused to share info about their case level, which was fine with me but made conversation a little more difficult. (Joanna asked me where I got my confidential info, which led to me asking her what confidential info I had, and I asked whether she had done OT3 so I could make sure not to accidentally talk about something she wasn't supposed to know about. Later, Nick was discussing the lies on my web site, but couldn't remember any specific lies, so I asked whether he was a Clear. Neither of them would answer those questions.)
I made a point of offering fliers to passersby and displaying my sign to passing busses (as I think I've noted, three bus lines go by my apartment, and at this time of day, there were a lot of them). Once, when I went down to the corner to wave at a passing bus, my flier-holder malfunctioned and dumped all my half-page fliers onto the street, where they promptly blew away. (As I've said before - information wants to be free. grin ) I picked up as many as I could without running into traffic, but that wasn't very many. Alas, my neighbors will be seeing "Did Scientology Kill Rodney Rimando?" and "Scientology Charged in Lisa's Death" on their way home this evening. (Craig made much of this, saying I should go over and pick up every escaped flier. In the same spirit, Scientology should not have let their copies of Gateway sit around on the sidewalk where any old SP could pick them up.)
About half the passersby declined their fliers and mine; most, but not all, of the passersby who stopped to talk at all expressed disdain for Scientology before they even took my flier. One passerby said he didn't want to know anything from either side, then later came back and debated with the Scientologists until they left, calling Scientology a cult and asking them why they couldn't stand a little criticism from one little person like me.
A couple of the folks who live in my building came out to talk, too. One gentleman engaged the Scientologists in debate for nearly as long as I did - Craig kept saying he thought this gentleman was my boyfriend and, when I refused to confirm or deny (as I do about everything in my personal life that's not already public knowledge, such as my profession), he repeatedly told me that I should get a boyfriend - that would calm me down ("but Craig - I AM calm") and make a big difference in my life. I asked if he didn't think I could be a happy, fulfilled person as a single woman, and he said in my case, no.
We had a minor near-altercation when talking with a passerby. Joanna stuck her sign in front of my face to block me and my sign and very nearly struck me. I said, loudly, "EXCUSE ME!" and moved her sign away from my face. She seemed sincerely apologetic. The gentleman from my building thought she actually had hit me and got very upset and told Joanna, very Tone-40, that if she EVER touched me again, she would be in jail. There was a bit of continued confusion, and then we all calmed down again - I made it clear that I was fine and that Joanna and I had cleared it up reminded everyone that we should keep our distance and be a little more careful.
Craig left around halfway through the picket. Bob tended to keep to himself (I suggested he stay on the sidewalk and not walk out between parked cars on the street), but Joanna and Nick continued to talk with me, the gentleman from my building, and other passersby. Nick and my neighbor were having one of those round-about, we're-not-getting-anywhere conversations typical of the ones I've posted here before. Joanna and I were doing more or less the same, but eventually we managed to have the beginnings of a real conversation - she asked me about my involvement in Scn, and I told her. (While we were discussing whether I was a Scientologist, I mentioned that I had had one of those little six-month membership cards, but I never considered myself a Scientologist. Bob interjected here to inform me that a Scientologist is someone who's applying Scientology.)
I had heard Nick say he didn't trust me or my neighbor (he was lumping us together as if we were fellow critics, even though the only critical tendency my neighbor has displayed is not blindly accepting Scientologists' statements), so at one point I asked Nick if there was anything he could communicate to someone like me, whom he didn't trust, that would raise our ARC level. (At this point, Joanna went off - it REALLY bugged her when I used Scn terms, and she kept insisting I didn't understand them. I told her I was using them out of respect for things that were important to her and Nick, and if they came across to her as disrespectful, I would stop using them in her presence. I rephrased my question to Nick, asking if he could think of anything that would build up our level of trust and enhance our relationship.)
Nick quieted down and thought for a minute and said he just wished we would look at some of the positive things about Scientology. I asked him to tell me some positive things. Joanna told me that Scn had gotten five of her friends of drugs. I looked her right in the eye and told her I was being completely sincere, and told her I was glad that had happened. Nick said it had gotten three of his friends off drugs, and I told him the same thing.
It was around this point that the other passerby came back and started debating, so we lost some of the potential for genuine conversation, but it was a start.
As usual, there was no mention of Scn on their fliers or their signs.
At about 5 pm, they left, saying they'd be back tomorrow.
Afterwards, I spoke with the police about the non-incident between me and Joanna and the rising level of inciteful behavior. The officer gave me both the regular phone number and 911, and repeatedly told me to call that number the next time I see them. I will, reluctantly, just to make sure an officer can remind us all of appropriate picket behavior. (I have no desire to interfere with their legal right to free speech; I just want to make sure we all stay on the right side of the law.)
I was dismayed that the Scientologists demonstrated so little ability to promote peaceful coexistence, but I hope all Scientologists understand that I will do whatever is necessary to ensure my own right to free speech, whether that means working to calm others down and defuse volatile situations, or calling the police whenever that's advisable.
I look forward to seeing demonstrations of their own ethical, positive, exemplary behavior.

If they really are the same folks who picket at my place, I wouldn't characterize it as children's crusade stuff. Joanna and Nick looked fairly young, but definitely at least in high school and very possibly in their early 20s. (I'm terrible at guessing ages.) Bob is almost certainly mid-20s, and Craig could be late 20s - early 30s. (Assuming I'm not way off in all cases.)
Nick and Joanna, despite seeming to be the youngest, did perfectly fine holding up their end of the picket. I doubt anyone told them to come, and if that did happen, they sure jumped into the task with enthusiasm.

Craig, Mick, and Joanna stopped by today for another quick revenge picket. I noticed them at around 2 pm and they left at about 2:15.
(It's Mick, with an M, not Nick, as I erroneously reported before. Throughout the picket today, I referred to him as "Mick", but he repeatedly misheard me - intentionally or not, I don't know - and "corrected" me.)
Joanna had a new hand-lettered sign without a stick.
Mick had a video recorder and pointed it at me (and occasional passersby)during our brief chat.
I attempted to give each of them a letter I had written about the libellous nature of their fliers, but each one of them refused to take it. I then explained that I believed they were breaking the law, and suggested that, as responsible Scientologists, they review the law for themselves and make sure they were taking responsibility for their actions. They (Mick? Craig?) said, "So you're threatening to sue us?!?" and I said I wasn't threatening - that I would prefer not to, but that I believed their actions were illegal. Craig said they had had their lawyers check out the fliers and that the lawyers had said they were okay.
Joanna asked me again, "Don't you have a job?" even though we went over that last Thursday (I had explained that, as an independent contractor, I have a lot of control over when I work).
Mick harped repeatedly on the psych history he's certain I must have, asking whether I'd taken my medication today and inviting me to tell him how psychiatry had helped me. I repeated for the umpteenth time that I'm not interested in discussing my personal life.
Mick asked whether I had a boyfriend ("I'm not interested in discussing my personal life"), then asked, "Well, then what's this 17-year relationship?"
Clever boy.

In answer to his question, I grinned a big grin and told him he was welcome to any other information he could find on the Internet.
He of course asked whether that relationship was with a boy ('cause surely I MUST be out-2D) and, like Craig, suggested I really should get a boyfriend - SOME people could be happy single, but not me, he said.
I did a lot more listening than talking this time, although I steadfastly refused to let Craig talk over me, which he attempted several times - notably when I began telling Joanna that Jeff Quiros ("Who's that?" she asked) had given me info contradicting what I had on my web site and fliers, and that I had looked at it, confirmed it, and changed my site and fliers.
I also had an opportunity to correct Joanna's apparent belief that Scientology has never broken the law by informing her that the organization itself was convicted of breaking the law in Canada and that it had been slapped with the biggest libel fine in Canadian history. It didn't seem to faze her. I'm hopeful that she'll think about it later, but perhaps she'll just refuse to confront the truth.
Today's flier (2 were affixed to the apartment gate - that's vandalism, guys - harkens back to the previous "yellow" flier (printed on yellow paper) they were distributing earlier in the year - older photo, harder to see, badly duplicated. They changed "Today she lead a smear campaign against peaceful members of a religion and a picket in front of their church." to "She lead's [sic] a smear campaign against peaceful members of a religion and regularly pickets in front of their church." but otherwise it seems identical to the old yellow ones.

They continued to make inaccurate statements: Craig said I picket "all the time" and "every week" (and wouldn't answer, as usual, when I asked him how often I'd picketed in March), and Joanna asked where I got the money to fly to Los Angeles and Clearwater (I pointed out that I've never picketed in Clearwater). I asked Mick whether he had any evidence to believe I was on medication, too, but of course, he didn't give any.

They said they'll be back tomorrow, so hopefully I'll see them then.

My revenge picketers just left. It was the usual trio: Craig, Mick, and Joanna. Mick was wielding his trusty video camera, and Joanna had her hand-made sign again. They were here from about 3:45 - 4:15.
Since they appear to be uninterested in actual dialog, I didn't bother to go down and chat with them today. If they WOULD like to talk with me, they need only ask. Nicely.
I picked up the two bigot fliers they tossed through the gate - they've backed up an issue or two, and they're back to the ones with the decent picture of me, grinning, and calling me "This woman" instead of "Your neighbor."
It didn't appear that they physically attached any fliers to the gate this time ... I wonder if someone had a little chat with them about vandalism. I hope so - I would hate for them to have to do ethics conditions for breaking the law.
Overall, they were pretty quiet. I heard them having a couple of conversations with passersby, but it didn't sound like there were any shouting matches.
I hope they enjoyed themselves - it was a lovely, summery day. Excellent weather for a picket.

In the first week of April, I snail-mailed a counternotification to Frontier Communications regarding the "Life History" form and the RA files (a commentary page of the RA files is at http://www.primenet.com/~xenubat/LRH.html) which had been blocked on my web site because Scn apparently complained about them.
On 4/26/99, I e-mailed one of the people I sent the snail mail to, asking if they had received my letter, and if so, if they'd forwarded my counternotification to the Scn lawyers; I also said that if I didn't provide a correct counternotification, to please let me know and that I would re-write it and re-submit it. I also gave my work and home phone numbers to call if they wanted to call me. I received an e-mail back saying they had forwarded my e-mail to the other person I snail-mailed, saying that this person was the one taking care of the matter.
I didn't hear anything else, so Tuesday I e-mailed the other person asking again about my counternotification and giving the same info as in my earlier e-mail to the first person (about re-writing the counternotification if necessary and also giving my work and home phone numbers). I still haven't heard anything from Frontier, nor have I heard anything from any Scn lawyers. As of today, the "Life History" form and the RA files are STILL blocked!

The usual trio revenge-picketed my apartment building today. I wasn't here, so that's about all the info I have.
While I was out doing various things today, I strolled down Market Street, enjoying the sunshine and the human parade. I walked right by a Dianetics body-routing table - I wouldn't even have noticed it, but I heard a gentleman's voice saying, "What part of the book did you disagree with?" and I swivelled around to look.
I got some nice pictures of the table full of books and the two e-meters perched in the corners. The two body-routers didn't want to have their pictures taken, so I didn't photograph them. The gentleman immediately went into a standard routine, asking me which books I had read, which parts I had disagreed with ("Dianetics says that Clears have perfect memory." "Oh, so you must not be Clear then." This guy kept finding new and different ways of missing the point.)
He asked what I do a couple of times (making sure to insert the standard line that obviously all I do is go around looking for things to destroy), and I told him to ask Jeff Quiros, who knows all about me. He recognized Jeff's name and asked for mine, and I told him.
When I went around to photograph the e-meters from the back, he initially tried to stop me, and even put his hand on my shoulder - although he removed it when I asked him too. When I continued to crouch next to the table, he changed his mind and held up the e-meter for me to photograph - carefully hiding "SFOD Div 6" with his hand, to avoid, he said, giving anyone any misunderstoods on that.
I continued on my merry way, taking my camera out later to photograph one of the beautiful plaques commemorating human rights in the United Nations Plaza.
I also saw a janitor's strike while I was out walking around. It always does my heart good to see people exercising their right to publicly assemble and request the redress of grievances.

He was kind of upset because I had promised him before I wouldn't post copyrighted works.
Well, to my knowledge, Co$ had never before claimed "Heaven", and also, while a received a Kobrinogram (I refuse to call the poor woman a "Ho", she ~is~ only doing her job after all, plus for some reason my heart really goes out to her) for the NOT's, I never received anything from her regarding Heaven, and I had been posting that since so long ago on a.r.s. I can't even remember.
But, I guess the Co$ ~IS~ claiming that Hubbard authored the HCO on Heaven, and that it ~is~ his words regarding having been there and all that is stated about it. But, I don't think they have done this publicly, have they?
Anyway, "HCO BULLETIN OF MAY 11, AD13, ROUTINE 3 HEAVEN" is claimed, evidently, by the Co$ as offically Hubbard.
Now, I am just wating to get another ISP, I am having to use other peoples accounts to get to my e-mail. At least my ISP was nice enough to keep my e-mail so I can access through another account, but soon I will lose that too.
They did, however, agree to lock out dbj1120@iag.net so that once I am totally gone from them, nobody else can take my ID to pretend they are me.

This afternoon while cleaning my living room I noticed that there were people picketing my house again. There was the shrill young blonde girl, the tall black man who had been here on a previous Friday, and the short blonde boy with the video camera. He was taping my front door, where nothing was happening!
I called the police. Two officers came, asked for their names, which they would not give. The officers apparently asked them to leave, and on the way, take with them the flyers they had once again stuck into the chain link fence next to my house.
It was quite the neighborhood drama. One policeman talking to the three Scientologists on the sidewalk, one talking to me on my porch, where I am afraid I lost my temper and loudly mentioned things like "cult" and "stalking", and in response to the suggestion that I come to an agreement with Scienotology, "I don't make deals with the devil!"
I went in to get my camera which I had finally gotten film for, and by the time I got outside, the Scientology kids were walking away down the block. I followed hoping to get pictures, but my camera wouldn't work! I was pretty pissed off and wanted to get a license number, however it developed into a Keystone Kops episode, with the shrill girl trying to flag down a departing policeman to charge me with stalking them, while my camera refused to work, and they went to a bus stop to wait for their transportation home. I tell ya, I don't think I'm cut out to be a private eye.
But humor aside, I take this intrusion seriously. This is a very good example of the sort of harassment techniques used by Scientology against its critics. I will point out again, I don't know who any of these people are who are turning up in my neighborhood seeking to make me a target, and nor would they supply their identities to the police. I am not listed in the phone book, for good reason - to avoid being targeted by the generally deranged!

Having gotten off early today, I got home around 3:30, to find four very young Scientologists picketing my house and my block. I think they are the same ones that have been visiting Jour in San Francisco, 3 boys and a girl. One of the boys asked me as I was going in my door, when I was going to leave them alone, at which point they would leave me alone. As far as I know, I've never seen any of these people before in my life. Well I didn't come home early on Friday to spend it with a bunch of people stupid enough to engage in residential picketing. I went in and left them to entertain a bunch of little kids who thought it was either a circus or a parade. Peach
For the fourth day in a row, my house was picketed by Scientologists. Young, young, young Scientologists. One girl looked all of 17. This time there were two young men, and three girls. They had the usual signs, and in addition, a video camera. I guess they must have confused me with Kirstie Alley or something. They got wonderful shots of me opening the door, looking at them, locking the door, going to the car, putting my picket signs in the car and driving off for our newly instituted First Saturday of the Month pickets at the SF Scientology Org. I feel I must make some comments on their behaviour, which was very bad. They were heavily into taunts, the most memorable of which were: "Nobody in this neighborhood likes you very much, Peaches" and "You live here alone with your cat Peaches? Are you one of those people who have a special relationship with their cat?" It took me back to the usual third grade schoolyard behaviour, when a bunch of kids gangs up on one kid. The boy with the video camera told me he would see me when I came home from picketing, and then they all kinda rushed the car shouting stuff as I drove off down the street! Tell me,is this what rock 'n' roll stars feel like? So we had the usual picket. It was nice and quiet at the org, where Kristi, Administrati and I did the usual drill. I think those kids who were at my house should come by one of our pickets and see how adults conduct themselves on a picket line. Of course I do not approve of residential picketing at all. Really, it's just organized stalking. I will point out that I never have given any of these people my address,and I don't really want to know them. I expected them to be there when I got back, but they weren't. It was nice weather. Perhaps they went off to do something more fun than shouting at some poor old addled crazed cat lady. : )Peach

Hi everyone. I got back from Amsterdam yesterday and listened to my phone messages, and the first one is from my across-the-street neighbor.
She told me that three or four Scientologists picketed my apartment building on the afternoon of Sunday, April 25 -- the day after I left for the Netherlands.
They passed out the same old "Ron Newman / Alfred E. Neuman - Separated at Birth?" leaflet. Folks, it was funny the first time, but now it's just getting old. Unbelievably, the leaflet still contains this sentence:
"We feel this is a slap in our face and to the many of our professional working friends."
To any Boston Org or OSA person reading this: do you realize how stupid the above sentence sounds? And that you've been distributing leaflets containing this error since *August 14, 1998* ??

I wasn't paying close attention to the conversations on the street, but it sounded to me like at least two passersby gave them an earful.
As they were leaving, Joanna called up to me, "Bye, Kristi - see you tomorrow!"

My revenge picketers came by again today from about 3:30 until around 4:10. It was just Mick, Joanna, and Bob to begin with (Bob had the video camera today, while Mick held both a pre-lettered sign and a handmade sign). Craig showed up at around 3:55 and commandeered Joanna's sign.
I popped down to take a few more pictures before Craig arrived. I said hello and asked how they were doing, and they studiously ignored me.

At around 14:00 today somebody called my tech support staff and reported "a problem accessing 'nick.zeta.org.au', error 'No route to host'". This is not a host which is accessible to the public and so my staff told the caller so, and asked why they needed to use it.
The answer was that the call was from the "Church [sic] of Scientology" and they had received a report (no details given) of an unfavourable web site on 'nick.zeta.org.au'.
When the details of that call reached me I told a joke about Xenu and the whole office cracked up with laughter. I wonder if I should tell the clams the correct URL :-)

Dear Mr. Pedersen:
Following, our most recent telephone conversation today, I have given considerable thought to what we discussed concerning your upcoming television program on the Church Scientology.
Initially, I would like to point out that the Church has cooperated extensively with the production staff in the making of this program. Our staff and parishioners in Denmark have provided interviews, footage of our church facilities and tried to answer all of your questions.
While I understand that to some degree the program will be controversial, I am grateful that the Church has had the opportunity to present you with sufficient material to portray the Church of Scientology in a balanced, even-handed fashion. And I truly hope that your program will ultimately reflect that balance. We are not seeking to exert editorial control over your program; your journalistic integrity deserves to be respected. However, knowing what we know about Jesse Prince, we do object to the fact that he is being given the prominence of your television program to violate his contractual obligation.
In the final analysis, I fail to see what could possibly be gained by providing a Church spokesperson to engage in a televised debate with Jesse Prince. Mr. Prince was removed from any position of authority in the Church more than 10 years ago for his inability to attend to his duties in an honest, ethical fashion. He has no current knowledge of any of our Churches or activities. Thus, nothing he could possibly say on your program will improve your viewers' understanding of Scientology at all.
As to any past knowledge he may have had at one time, Mr. Prince admitted in a documented interview with Church counsel that such knowledge did not include any of the areas of expertise that he is now pretending to be an expert, such as Church legal affairs. For example, in August of 1998, Mr. Prince filed a declaration in a copyright infringement case involving the unlawful copying of approximate 2,000 published works by L. Ron Hubbard. In it, Mr. Prince pretended to a knowledge of copyright procedures which he did not possess. Once this lack of knowledge was exposed in a deposition of Mr. Prince taken on August 19, 1998, the defendants in that suit, who hired Mr. Prince were forced to settle the case for a permanent injunction and a $1,000,000 damages award against them rather than face a trial with Mr. Prince as their witness.
Worse than merely being uninformed, Mr. Prince has amply demonstrated that he will say anything for money. Indeed Mr. Prince conceded in his August 19, 1998 testimony (excerpts of which were provided to you) that he had received several thousand dollars and a new car for testifying against the church, and that his paychecks would continue as long as he continued to speak out. This money is his only regular source of income beyond some occasional work as a handyman.
Before obtaining this windfall, Mr. Prince was unable to keep a job and, as a result declared bankruptcy in 1997. After declaring bankruptcy, he then sought to have the Church purchase his silence in exchange for large amounts of money. After the Church refused to cooperate with this attempted extortion, Mr. Prince took up the mantle of as a "professional" anti-Scientologist. Having collected his thirty pieces of silver to betray his faith, he continues to appear in the press, picket Churches, and harass Church staff both to earn his pay and in the hope that the Church will pay him money to go away. That is what he is attempting to do now, and I see no reason for the Church to aid him in his efforts.
Further, you were provided with evidence concerning Mr. Prince's long, unchanging pattern of unethical conduct. These included court records of arrests and convictions for lewd conduct and for driving while intoxicated. This conduct continues to the present. You were provided these materials for a specific reason: Mr. Prince intends to come on your program and pass moral judgement on my Church. His fitness to make moral pronouncements is thus directly relevant. It is my view that Mr. Prince's conduct renders him unfit to judge Scientology or anyone else.
Finally, we have presented you with the contract Mr. Prince signed when he left Church staff in which he agreed never to disclose any of the information he learned while on Church staff. This contract was entered into precisely to avoid the circumstance of Prince inventing allegations which force the Church to disclose private internal matters to disprove his lies. Mr. Prince is contractually bound to the Church in the amount of $10,000 for each breach of this contract. As he is penniless, and as your program is paying his expenses to enable him to fly to Denmark and appear on your show in violation of his contractual obligations, the Church will hold your production company and any of its employees or agents who induced Mr. Prince to breach his contractual obligations fully responsible for any violations.
Thus, if you sincerely desire to have your program reflect the amount of effort you and your staff appear to have put into it, and not to have it degenerate into a tabloid-style forum for the airing of lies which have been bought and paid for, I urge you to seriously reconsider using Mr. Prince at all.
Whatever you decide, you will not have a Church representative sitting opposite him in a live-on-tape debate; that we will not do. You do have our views, though, in this letter, and I would request that those views be accurately communicated to your viewers.
If you wish to communicate about any other matters concerning your program please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jesse Prince is a former Church staff member who is speaking out against Scientology because he is being paid to do so. His testimony was purchased by FACTNet director Robert Minton to help FACNet escape a judgment in a copyright infringement case.
Yet, Prince was caught in so many lies in his deposition that Minton and the other FACTNet directors were forced to settle the case to avoid Prince's lies being aired in a public trial. Prince is routinely ignored by the American press, because one thing Minton's money cannot buy is credibility--Prince has demonstrated that he has none.
Prince Was Funded by Robert Minton to Testify for FACTNet:
Robert Minton, a retired financier and a director of the FACTNet computerized database, funneled handouts to Prince through a FACTNet fund in order to secure testimony in a copyright infringement case against FACTNet by Bridge Publications, the licensee of some of the copyrights to L. Ron Hubbard's works. Minton retrieved Prince from a seedy underworld shortly after he filed for bankruptcy to bring him on board for FACTNet.
Prince's history shows a serious drug habit, a career as a drug dealer and male prostitute, a proclivity for abusing women, and other violent and criminal tendencies. His police record before joining the Church included contributing to the sexual delinquency of a child and indecent exposure.
Nevertheless, he was given an opportunity to turn his life around while in the Church. He proclaimed at one point that were it not for Scientology, he would have been dead. Yet, even while on staff reports were received of Prince physically abusing other staff members and sexually harassing female staff.
Prince left Church staff in 1992 "to deal with ... a couple of illegitimate children that I had prior to Scientology, different mothers." He slipped back into the same lifestyle he had left when he joined Church staff. In 1995 he was arrested for a bout of drunken violence and again in 1997 for driving under the influence. He was accused of physically threatening people and sexually harassing women at his job. He was fired after being accused of theft.
Thus, seven years after leaving the Church, Prince found himself bankrupt and in dire financial straits. Offered some easy money by Minton, the temptation was too much. He set about reinventing history, though his tales are contradicted by all evidence, including his earlier interviews.
Prince conceded in his August 1998 deposition in Bridge Publications, Inc. v. FACTNet, Lawrence Wollersheim and Robert Penny, that his airfare, hotel and car rental were all paid for by Robert Minton. In addition to paying for these expenses Minton also gave Prince $500 "walking-around" money to spend as he wished while in Los Angeles to sign his declaration.
Prince testified that Minton flew him around, handed him $5,000 in $100 bills--stating it came from FACTNet's "Victim's Relief Fund." Later, Prince received another $2,000 from Minton and FACTNet. Minton also bought Prince a new car, costing more than $23,000. Prince confirmed in his deposition that he was to continue to keep the car for as long as he gave FACTNet what they wanted.
Prince was supplied with a wardrobe, car, accessories, expenses and extra "spending cash," totaling tens of thousands of dollars.
Prince was exposed as a petty criminal and a liar
Prince was brought into the FACTNet case to provide whatever "testimony" was needed to support the defense of those who broke the copyright law against the Church of Scientology. He began with a perjured affidavit, then was repeatedly caught inventing testimony about the works at issue in the case. He pretended to be an expert in copyrights, yet he could not answer the simplest questions about basic copyright law. He invented incidents from his time on Church staff which fell apart on cross examination because they never occurred.
Prince lied in deposition in denying that he had a criminal record. He was then shown the police reports and court documents of his various arrests and a conviction, and had no choice but to concede their truth.
Prince went out of his way to describe fabricated incidents but in doing so, only served to incriminate himself. For example, he claimed he had threatened Church officials with two loaded guns when they removed him from a position in the Church because of his unethical behavior. This was a lie. But if it were true, Prince would have implicated himself in a serious crime.
Not only was Prince's perjury apparent from his own contradictory testimony, it highlighted his stupidity as his stories only served to further undermine any credibility he may have mustered.
It is hardly surprising that someone who was willing to sell his body for sexual favors had little difficulty with the ethics of telling lies for money. And still less surprising is the fact that while parading for FACTNet, Prince attempted to purchase illicit drugs, and was again arrested for driving under the influence.
Prince Incited Hatred and Violence:
While Prince acts civilly under the TV lights, his natural demeanor returns when the cameras leave -- as in one example where he loudly threatened, within earshot of women and children, to violently sodomize a Church executive.
In September 1998 Prince and Bob Minton picketed in front of the Church of Scientology in Boston. Minton cracked his picket sign over the face of one of the staff members who was talking with him. He was arrested and charged for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Prince was named as a suspect in the Police Incident Report". As a result, the criminal court now requires him to give one hour notice before coming near the Church so law enforcement can be notified.
Two days prior to this incident, Prince and Minton threatened several Scientologists with axes and sledgehammers, throwing rocks at them and then gloating about it on the Internet. The posting, from Prince's e-mail address, said that "After a while, it got boring so Bob and Jesse decided to spice it up Steven King style. They both got long handled axes and waited for them on both sides of the road. I swear you never seen windows go up so fast!"
More recently, Minton and Prince were in Clearwater, Florida. While the TV camera inside filmed the soft-spoken, "reasonable" Bob Minton, a personal video camera outside recorded the real Bob Minton: "Yo mama!" yelled Minton, crossing a street to attempt to intimidate a Scientologist standing outside his Church. "I've been ----ing your mama for a long time, buddy. That's why you've got that curly hair."
FACTNet Settled Case To Avoid The Effect of Prince's Perjury:
Shortly after Prince's deposition, Minton and the other FACTNet directors admitted that FACTNet had in fact been engaged in copyright infringement and agreed to be bound by a permanent injunction and a million dollar judgment to be enforced by the Federal Court. By agreeing to admit their wrongdoing, they avoided inevitable charges of perjury they would have faced as a result of Prince's testimony.

I wanted to write to you to put a few things in perspective regarding the lawsuit, and to correct some horrible lies you had apparently been told by your CAN friends or Ross.
First, Jason told me that you told him that you had concluded that I intended some harm to you. That is an incredible falsehood. I have never done, or caused to be done or knew about any conceivable harm to come to you. Never. I must assume that Ross or one of the other CAN people put that idea in your head to assure that you would work for his side. The man is so disreputable to be beyond imagination.
Why would I want harm to Jason's mother? He does and always has loved you and it breaks his heart that you have taken the advice of these "friends" and chosen not to communicate with him, not to know his daughter, not to share in his life. What Ross and CAN have done to distance you from Jay and your other former friends is awful. Kathy, it is the hard truth that you have been badly used by Mona and Ross and others who give you advice which has been destructive to your family and destructive to your own integrity.
I am sorry that we had to end up as adversaries at trial. Believe me, I had no intention of dragging you through the mud. Jay and I had agreed very early on that I would not attack you, even if it were necessary to the case. I had a great deal of additional information I could have used to discredit you further if I had wanted to do so, but stayed my hand. By misrepresenting the facts and circumstances and skewing your testimony (i.e. "Rick Ross is a brilliant man", that you planned everything, that the Church was horrible, that Kern broke up your marriage with Daley, etc.), you gave me no choice but to show the world that you were not being honest. You may feel I was a little harsh on you in your

I hope and Jay hopes that the information that came out in this trial showing just how bigoted Ross, Landa and the others actually are, will help to heal these wounds, which have bled enough. Believe me, as I told you when we met at Lake Chelan, and as I tried to show you at trial, I recognize you are as much a victim of the events as Jay -- perhaps more so. You did not stay to the end of the trial, however, in closing argument, Ross's attorney argued that contrary to his assertion all along that he was guided by principal, in fact, he had only *monetary* motives for the deprogramming. He was a mercenary from the very start and the only person that was really "brainwashed" in all of this was you. First by the inflammatory garbage from Shirley Landa, then by the equally inflammatory lies of Ross. Did you know that CAN's policy is to disseminate only derogatory information about groups? Whatever Shirley says about who she was "acting for" at the time she talked to you, she was a founder of this hate group, was their contact person in Washington, ran their local affiliate, and promoted their propaganda throughout her life. You were sucked into it at a vulnerable time period, and that was very unfortunate. But that is what CAN does.
Unfortunately, after having undertaken an act as dramatic as the one you funded, very few people would be able to step back and observe their conduct and make a truly independent decision about whether they were right or wrong This is particularly true when people such as Ross and Landa are continuing to yap in your ear about how evil Life Tabernacle is, how bad Rev. Kern is -- indeed how evil I am because of my own religious beliefs~ They are propaganda artists, pure and simple. You were used.
At any rate, I hope this trial will help to heal your family and not act to further divide it. It's not too late for you to be happy.

As I approached the org, Sylvia Stanard was sitting at a table having lunch. She told me they had a surprise for Arnie, I suppose she thought this was a devestating flyer. The one flyer guy Tom had an unusual patter as he distributed this. He asked people to come in to see the movie Orientation. "Every half hour." It didn't make sense to me to me inviting people in as you distribute silly DA packs. And Michelle Rochefort didn't like distributing it at all. "Don't blame me, I didn't write it." Matt Bratschi asked if I'd ever seen the communityinterest site, since he was unfamiliar with it. It doesn't even seem to be a Scientology site, just an anti-bombing site. I guess it was written uplines.

Recent "Religious Bigot" flyerings of my house.
May 18th: Two different flyerings, one wrapped around rocks in front yard found about 6pm, and yet another flyering, which occurred after dark...stuck in the chain link fence, which I found when I went to put out the garbage at 10:30 pm.
May 19th: two flyers found, one the fence, one in the geraniums at 7:40 am...left by the after dark flyerer the night before.
May 20th: a loose flyer in front yard, and one under the garbage can in the driveway, found at 6:20 pm.
May 21: two flyers twist tied to the chain link fence, left by the after dark flyerer and found at 9:45pm.
And that's the stats folks.

I got a home picket by two Scientologists today, so I thought I'd report on it, and the last couple of incidents I hadn't posted before.
May 27, 1999: Two incidents. I got home at 7:20 pm to find two people picketing my house with the standard "Religious Bigot" flyers attached to picket signs. Both were older people, who certainly ought to have known better, one man, one woman. They seemed pleasant, aside from the fact that they were picketing my house and calling me a religious bigot, which I am not. I took a couple of pictures and went in to do some housework, but kept an eye on them. When I noticed they had gone, I went around the corner to where I figured they had parked their vechicle, and sure enough, there they were preparing to drive away. I got photos of the license plate.
Someone else came by later and left one of those rock-filled, rolled up flyers on the walkway to my house.
May 30, 1999: I was talking on the phone at 12:40pm and noticed a flash of white thru the front window curtain. It was the man named Craig who has picketed me before. I wasn't exactly ready for a public appearance so I spruced up and got my camera. This took about 5 minutes, and while I was doing so, I heard a conversation outside. I assumed that my picketer had been joined by another picketer. But when I opened the door ready to get a picture, no one was there. I believe that the conversation may have been one of my neighbors, who are not very happy to find Scientology abroad in the neighborhood in this particular form, requesting that the Scientologist should enjoy his Sunday elsewhere.
June 6, 1999: I was getting a magazine out of the basket next to the curtain, and noticed that once again, I was being picketed. Two picketers this time, the woman with the dark curly hair, and Craig. Craig seems to be a very ambitious man. I went out to get pictures, and my next door neighbors were all outside.
It has been my policy to do my best to not engage in discussion with the Scientolgist Home Picket/Harassment Brigade. I do not wish to reward what I consider to be outrageous stalking. My neighbors however, have no such policy. In the strongest terms they advised the Scientologists to leave the neighborhood. Which, after a few minutes, the two Scientologists did. My neighbors also said that their kids don't like to walk down the sidewalk when the Scientologists are there. The kids don't know OSA or Xenu or an SP from a hole in the wall, but they recognize what is going on here for exactly what it is.

On May 17, I had sent a revised counternotification letter to Frontier with the statements that they said were needed in the counternotification: a) that I state under penalty of perjury that I have good faith belief that the claims of copyright infringement are the result of mistake or misrepresentation; and b) that I agree to abide by the jurisdiction of the federal district court in the state of Minnesota and also agree to accept service of process by the Church of Scientology or its agents. I sent this out via UPS Next Day Delivery, and it was indeed signed for at Frontier on May 18.
On Monday, June 7, I e-mailed Frontier asking if they had forwarded my counternotification to Scn, saying that I hadn't heard anything from Scn (gotten any papers served on me or gotten registered mail), and said if my letter still didn't meet the criteria for a proper counternotification, to please let me know and I'd send them another revised letter, and gave them my work and home phone #s. Tuesday I forwarded a copy of the e-mail to security@primenet and security@globalcenter for their information. I haven't gotten an e-mail response from Frontier. On Friday I did get an e-mail from Jim Lippard from Primenet/Globalcenter Security asking if I'd heard anything from Frontier and saying that the people from Security at Primenet/Globalcenter had not heard anything; I e-mailed back saying I hadn't heard anything.
Yesterday and today I called Frontier and left messages, saying I was enquiring about my blocked web pages and asking if I needed to send another revised counternotification, and left my phone #. I still haven't heard from Frontier either by phone or by e-mail. It may be possible that their lawyer(s) are tied up in another court case and have not been to their office--I know that was the reason they gave for not responding right away to my previous counternotification, when they told me I needed to revise it and send it again. I also checked my web pages just now and the pages that were blocked before are STILL blocked! :-(
So that's the latest regarding my web pages. I'll let you know if anything new should develop.

The issue is mainly about the TV programme which was sent on Satellite channel DR2 the 12th of June and which will be a replay on DR1 the 26 of June, and now on a channel every dane and many swedes can watch.
In this "Frihed" (Freedom) they are masters in twisting the truth 180 degrees around and are going into serious personal attacks on me, Jesse Prince, Åke Wiman, the production team: Jörgen Pedersen, Lisbeth Lyngse, Karin Hoegh, Ursula Caberta of Germany, Valdemar Christensen from FRI (Swedish association similar to the early CAN) and others.
So what are they saying?
Annette Refstrup - OSA DK:

Bid??? Hardly. She's a very tolerant-minded woman.
and she has been working together with Åke Wiman who has been participating in violent assaults on members of minority religions.
And out of all those dozens of times that Scn has tried to report him to the police on various wild charges, he was never once found to have committed any crime - least of all violence...
I have, however, personally watched a scientologist try to provoke him at a picket by moving up real close and tearing the leaflets out of his hands. The same as was done to Bid at the first Copenhagen picket, when she was pushed hard and almost crashed into a window! The same as was done to me and another female picketer at a subsequent picket. Needless to say, we did not respond by violent assault, but by calling the police.

This last one is very interesting. The truth is that I phoned Annette Refstrup because I was told that she in an interview went to a personal attack against me and I said to her "I heard that you went into a personal attack against me in your interview .... I would never attack private persons like you are doing and you should know better."
Anette seems pretty friendly to chat with. Unfortunately, that doesn't count for much when it's time for writing the "Freedom" articles.
I think Åke deserves a special recognition. Not only is he always quoted as a representative of an organization that he doesn't work for (FRI), and the person who according to swedish OSA brainwashed me into attacking scn - more than half a year *before* I got to know him - but now he gets DA'd for a television show that he was not even involved in!
This "Freedom" magazine indicates that the OSA intelligence work in Europe is pretty sloppy these days. Apart from DA on those critics that they had already been told upfront would be participating in the show (Jesse, Bid), it just contains the usual random slander of the people they always attack. Not very inspired.
