Dave Bird, from Birmingham (England).  I have been involved in Liberty,
 the National Council for Civil Liberties -- equivalent to ACLU -- in
 campaigning against censorship, and against miscarriages of justice. 
 I came to a.r.s. via alt.censorship when I came onto the Internet 
 in 1995.  I have worked with the small group of Internet protesters
 in the UK, in making protests more frequent, better secured, and 
 more widely distributed. Ultimately I inherited the main organising
 role by natural wastage -- my predecessor had to give it up because 
 of increased family commitments -- though I have also made sure that
 the information and skills to organise are widely distributed and 
 anyone can take over from time to time.  As I had a few health 
 problems, UKSPs became the one thing I could not give up because
 it was 'my own gig' and I ought to be there no matter what.  My main
 achievement has been in seeing that _Bonnie_Woods_ was considered for
 very good pro bono legal representation, and got to beat Co$ in Court.
