======== Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Subject: Vegas Update, Yellow Tent again, 21.03.04 From: Ted Mayett Date: Sun, 21 Mar 2004 18:35:12 -0800 Well, lot's to cover here. The tent was back, but it was a different tent. I realize that now, a different tent. That last one in February was a 2-sections tent, and this one was a 3-sections tent. But even beyond the number of sections, the February tent had "windows", this March tent had none. A picture at the bottom of this page: http://www.solitarytrees.net/lvorgs/lv4a.htm I'm typing this on a Sunday. Saturday was the birthday event for that Hubbard guy. I go by early in the morning, about 6am, to see what might be new. And there is this big yellow tent again. I call into both orgs here in Las Vegas, I'm trying to learn what is happening. I'm told that today, Sunday, at 1pm there would be an FSM type event. I think she said FSM, this one woman did not speak English well at all. But, this was to definitely be a Volunteer Minister, and Planetary Salvage Crusade Event. So I go back about 1:15pm... no event, quite the opposite, the tent is being taken down. Vehicle count was about 15, but.... I watched for awhile, and after thinking it over and discussing it I have come to the conclusion that the org does NOT own the tent. (I think I owe somebody a quarter now :-) I believe that they rented the tent, and the chairs. I estimate about 40-50 chairs is what they had in the 3 sections. The tent was taken down by a 6 person crew of men and women. I'm rather sure this crew were not members. It was a few things that led to this conclusion, but I'm rather convinced the tent was a rental. And the tent crew was an outside crew, and not members. Now questions come to mind. Why was the tent even there? How long had it been there? Why do they even bother with a tent in the back of the org? And the biggest one, why did they say on the phone that there would be an Event in the tent? Now this yellow tent is a VM thing, it has nothing to do with that Hubbard guy and his birthday. So, was the tent set up Saturday? I don't know. Or, did the tent go up and come down in the same day for some reason? We have no way of knowing this. Regarding the vehicle count. If I'm correct and that 6 person crew were not members, then they would have accounted for some of the vehicles parked. And so, the real vehicle count would have been less than 15. Enough for now, there is more but I'd rather not mention it today. -- Ted Mayett OT 1.1 http://www.solitarytrees.net/pickets/links.htm
